TOYOTA'S STATE-OF-THE-ART ALL-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM
In addition to enriching equipment and rejuvenating the style of the Prius, the 2019 Toyota Prius now benefits from Toyota's state-of-the-art all-wheel drive system, AWD-e technology for increased confidence. The Prius becomes the first hybrid passenger car in the country to transmit controlled power to all four wheels.
The 2019 Prius builds on Toyota's new global architecture (TNGA) to deliver bolder styling, improved handling and efficiency, and a superior level of comfort and safety.
HIGH PERFORMANCE HYBRID SYSTEM
For its 2019 version, the Prius receives redesigned headlights and taillights, new exclusive wheels for each version and two new colors: Supersonic Red and Electric Storm Blue. With its chiseled lines and fluid shape, the Prius optimizes its energy efficiency. The front-wheel-drive models have a combined city / highway fuel economy of 4.4 L / 100 km and AWD-e models of 4.7 L / 100 km.
The 2019 Prius is built around a Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive featuring a 1.8-liter, Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine, a continuously variable transmission, high-capacity rechargeable batteries, and a sophisticated energy management system.
The front-wheel drive Prius is equipped with a high-torque electric motor connected to the front axle and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The new Prius AWD-e models are equipped with a new nickel metal hydride battery for excellent cold-weather performance, as well as high-torque electric motors at both decks offering all-wheel drive on demand.
MODERNIZED AND PRACTICAL INTERIOR
As for the interior, its style is modernized with new black trim, including on the steering wheel and the central block. In addition, all models offer an impressive operating volume, with a load capacity of 1,855 liters when the backs of the 60/40 split rear seat are folded down.
The technology on board the 2019 Prius is impressive. All models are equipped with two 4.2″ color multifunction displays displaying various information such as energy monitor, eco score and economy mode features, driver assistance systems, navigation aid and more. A touch-sensitive audio system with advanced voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity for portable electronics and Siri Eyes Free further enhance the comfort of the Prius.
